Google's Android smartphone attracting fast-growing developer community

The Mobile Digital Television Era Arrives


Television is being turned off and live TV becomes easily the most popular entertainment medium towards the people. Still is an effort to reach the IPhone generation, the broadcast industry is publishing Mobile Digital Television called Mobile DTV. A technology that lets you watch TV programming while you walk in a park or ride in a car barreling down in a highway.



The mobile DTV broadcasting standard comes from the Advanced Television System Committee (ATSC). Industry observes expect a slew of Mobile DTV-compliant products, from cell phones to laptops, to emerge this year.

 


The Mobile Digital TV Era actually drawned last year, when US stations switched from analog to Digital Broadcasts. The move to digital broadcasting freeds up wireless sprectrum for TV stations. Mobile DTV broadcasts like regular over the air is free.

Nokia's latest Luxurious Sliderphone 8800 Arte

Nokia has introduced a luxurious sliderphone Nokia 8800 Arte and 8800 Sapphire Arte in tandem as the latest in its series.Both models have a similar design and specification – including 3G connectivity, a 3.2-megapixel camera, and media player with 1GB of internal memory.But the Sapphire version is different notches up the exclusivity level with a real sapphire embedded in the navigation pad, plus additional brown leather trim on the front and back.
Each Nokia mobiles comes boxed with an appropriately upper-class set of accessories, including a sleek and smart Nokia BH-803 Bluetooth headset, leather pouch and a matching heavyweight desk stand. 


The slider mechanism is top drawer, very smooth as you like with a light spring action, and it makes a satisfying ‘clunk’ opening and closing.

The first thing you notice when you handle the 8800 Arte-class is that they are much heavier than you'd expect – 150g at a normal phone size of 109 x 45.6 x 14.6mm. You may expect a reassuringly well-built phone for the price, but it is a real pocket-sagger and standard-functioning phone.


The default mode for taking snaps is in portrait mode, though you can switch to landscape in the sub menu.Video capture quality is good for a mobile phone, delivering VGA quality (640 x 480 pixels) top resolution recording at 15 frames per second.
